Myanmar Spa & Wellness Forum will be held during Cosmobeauté Myanmar, on 7th June 2014 at Myanmar Convention Center, Yangon, Myanmar, with the objective to promote and advocate growth of the Spa and Wellness industry in Myanmar.

Traditionally, spa is a place where there is water for wellness function such as thermal or mineral spring. However, spas have evolved to be entities devoted to enhance overall well being through a variety of professional services that encourage the renewal of mind, body and spirit.

Hosting a total of 731,230 tourists and over 1 million in 2012, number of tourists in Myanmar is expected to increase by 30% in 2013. On the other hand, there are over 700 licensed hotels whilst government has created 11 more hotel zones in popular tourist areas. All these attributes are probably contributing towards the growth of Spa and Wellness industry as a tourist attraction and added value to the hotels.

“The land of golden pagodas – Myanmar is not only a home to 60 million residents, but also to a wealth of biodiversity thus enhancing its ability to create unique products. One of Spa and wellness trends in 2013 calls for countries to “revive precious ancient beauty and wellness secrets since this are what customers are looking for” said Madam Faridah Fadzil, President of Malaysian Association of Wellness & Spa (MAWSPA) at Cosmobeauté Myanmar Meet The Press session which was held on 27th February 2014 in Yangon.

Thus, with a rich heritage from major racial groups such as Bamar, Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine and Shan, Myanmar is definitely the place to provide traditional beauty and wellness secrets that one can’t find in other region. Armed with all the factors and strengths, Myanmar is set for a positive growth in the Spa and Wellness industry. Renowned speakers from MAWSPA will be invited to share their knowledge on 2 main dimensions: Opening a Spa; Concept Development & Menu Creation and Managing A Successful Spa Business during the Myanmar Spa & Wellness Forum on 7th June 2014.
