The 2015 Sabah & Sarawak Roadshow attracted many industry players from the both beauty and spa industry respectively and MAWSPA received some very encouraging media coverage for the roadshow.
The roadshow was held at two different locations with the first to hold at Four Points by Sheraton, Kuching, Sarawak on Tuesday, May 5, 2015 with near-perfect attendance. The second stop for the roadshow was held 2 days after the first which was held at 1 Borneo Hotel Kota Kinabalu, Sabah on Thursday May 7, 2015 with many attending for the programme.
Inspirational talks were given by the new President of MAWSPA Dr Baskaran Kosthi who shared about growth of spa and wellness industry in Malaysia as well as the direction of MAWSPA for the year 2015. Dr Baskaran too pointed out that the spa industry in the country was still at infancy state and through educations and training the industry would become respectable in future, just like the hotel industry.
During the show Dr Baskaran was accompanied by one of the Vice-President of MAWSPA Puan Ayu Mudiasih who presented on how to convert their existing salon business to spa that carries different wellness approach to their future and existing clients and how to do it right.
MAWSPA is pleased to officially announce the appointment of Maison Monica Academy in Kuching who has been appointed as the official chapter member of Sarawak and will be working hand in hand with MAWSPA to promote growth and to provide more opportunities for those in the East side to participate in the many different programmes by the ministry. MAWSPA look forward to offering many exciting new professional development opportunities in the months ahead and MAWSPA expect to continue the positive direction and growth of the chapter.
The road show ended with many press interviews on various current topics within the spa and wellness industry. MAWSPA also enjoy hearing from our members and if you have any ideas for future programs or something similar we welcome your input to serve you better.
